JÁN FRANČÁK
Ján Frančák (1986) je umelcom, ktorý nadväzuje na tradičné poňatie sochy, od portrétu po zobrazenie celej figúry. Má blízky vzťah ku klasickému modelovaniu, ktoré obohacuje o experimenty s novými a alternatívnymi materiálmi. Realizoval viaceré portréty osobností ako Koloman Sokol, Ján Turek či Élisabeth Eppinger. Do portrétu vkladá psychologické vlastnosti a životný príbeh zobrazovaného tak, aby ho priblížil divákovi ako človeka so špecifickým osudom. Autora zaujímajú metafyzické presahy, často sa inšpiruje biblickým príbehom v rozšírenom kontexte hľadania významu a smerovania ľudstva.
Busta Moje korene reaguje na evolučnú teóriu, zobrazuje tvár opice, ktorá je zároveň portrétom nášho predchodcu.
V r. 2005 - 2011 študoval na Fakulte výtvarných umení Akadémie umenia v Banskej Bystrici, kde neskôr pokračoval na doktorandskom štúdiu, ktoré úspešne ukončil v r. 2015. V r. 2012 - 2013 absolvoval študijný pobyt na Akadémii umení v Prahe. Vystavoval na Slovensku, v Poľsku a Českej republike. Žije v Levoči. www.janfrancak.com

Ján Frančák (1986) is an artist who continues the traditional concept of sculpture, from portrait to depiction of the whole figure. He is closely related to classical modelling, which he enriches with new and alternative materials experiments. He created several portraits of personalities such as Koloman Sokol, Ján Turek and Élisabeth Eppinger. He inserts some psychological characteristics and the life story of the portrayal into the portrait in such a way for to bring him/her closer to the viewer as a person with a specific destiny. The author is interested in metaphysical overlaps, being often inspired by the biblical story in the expanded context of the search for meaning and direction of humanity.
The bust of My Roots responds to the theory of evolution, depicting the face of a monkey, which is also a portrait of our predecessor.
In the yrs 2005 – 2011 he studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica, where he later continued his doctoral studies, which he successfully completed in 2015. In the yrs 2012 – 2013 he completed a study stay at the Academy of Arts in Prague. He has exhibited in Slovakia, Poland and the Czech Republic. He lives in Levoča.
